Daan started an internship at Flentrop in 2015. This internship lasted two years. He then went to the Wood and Furniture College (HMC), followed by another internship at Flentrop. In 2019, he started a BBL course at the HMC, which involves, besides his studies, his working at Flentrop four days a week.
Daan is currently apprenticed to another colleague in the soundboard department. This way, Daan can take over the soundboard making when his colleague retires. Daan is a big fan of antique tools, and he likes to work with his hands. One of his favourite tools is his old Stanley wood plane, made around 1912.
