Voicer/pipe maker; with us since 2003.
Yu moved from Japan to the Netherlands in 1997. During her conservatory studies, majoring in Organ, she assisted a number of Flentrop voicers/tuners. In 2003, she joined Flentrop herself, and in the beginning she could often be found in the pipe workshop. Shortly afterwards, she started working in voicing and tuning. Since the end of 2017, she has managed the work agendas of colleagues in the field service. She likes this combination very much: to have direct contact with the customers from the office, while also occasionally doing odd jobs in the pipe workshop or voicing room and regularly tuning the organs herself. For years, she has been a ‘regular’ reed tuner of the Müller organ during the concert series in the Haarlem St. Bavo church. This is a very special thing for her, since the world-famous Haarlem International Organ Festival was the reason why, when she was an Organ student in Tokyo, she decided to continue her studies in the Netherlands.
