The magazine Choir & Organ published in January/February 2022, a cover article on the new organ for the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
"Every so often, one plays an organ so exquisite, engaging or challenging that one cannot quite forget it. This is just such an organ – I want to hear it and to play it again, and again. I tried in vain to find something I did not like. I kept checking my enthusiasm: ‘There must be something wrong…’ But no, it is just a wonderful and fascinating organ. Congratulations to Flentrop."

Compact orgel met klankconcept Schnitger
An organ on which students can play Central European Baroque music as authentically as possible. Moreover, space is very limited in the Birmingham conservatoire. Therefore, Flentrop is making a compact two-manual organ inspired by the work of Arp Schnitger. With an 8-foot concept instead of a 4-foot, but with Schnitger’s cleverness. For instance, the organ has a twin chest and the larger stops are in the front section, the smaller and reeds in the rear section. By playing efficiently with the available space, the organ is compact with a maximum diversity of colours and characters and still easily accessible for tuning and maintenance.
